Forest Parties

Dear Customers
Firstly, can we say thank you for sticking with us. In particular, a huge thank you to those of you who had parties booked in the summer, that couldn’t happen and those of you who have dates in the diary for the autumn (You will have already received an email).
As you will be aware, our work is subject to government restrictions regarding the current situation with Covid-19. In addition, we have had to prepare strict policies and procedures to make our work viable. The guidelines have changed frequently in recent weeks, which has led to a lot of administrative work on our part. At times parties have appeared to be a viable option and then shortly after, due to new announcements, they have become impossible.
Due to the introduction of the government’s ‘Rule of Six’ which is introduced on Monday, it is looking likely that some of our work, that could be classified as a social gathering, is proving difficult to organise. As a result of this we have decided to cancel any birthday parties that we currently have in the diary and do not intend to take any further party bookings for the foreseeable future. We appreciate that this will be upsetting for the children and we are sad that we will be unable to bring a smile to their faces.
When the current situation is much more stable, we will resume birthday parties, but we do not expect this to be any time soon. We will make everyone aware through our social media pages and our website.
In the meantime, stay safe and best wishes
Tim and Jane

Who are they for?

Children and young people aged 3-18; we can adapt to any age.

All Year – Saturday, 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm

We are able to offer birthday parties in three very distinct woodlands on the outskirts of Bristol:

Overscourt Wood: East of Bristol, near Siston Common. This is a largely new woodland, with pockets of mature woodland. It covers a site of approximately 200 acres, so there’s plenty of room to run about and roam free!

Ashton Hill: West of Bristol, near the village of Failand. Ashton Hill was formally a part of the nearby Tyntesfield Estate in Wraxall. Consequently, many of the larger trees were planted in the 19th century. The Giant Sequoia grove dates from this period of estate landscaping. They are a spectacular site.

Wraxall Piece: Another beautiful woodland on the West side of Bristol, about 5 minutes from Leigh Woods. There are some amazing beech trees and also a wonderful ancient hazel coppice. This site has the added bonus of a private car park.

Hortham Farm: North of Bristol, near the village of Almondsbury. This 20 acre woodland is located on the farm with a an adjacent large field for games and facilties in the camping area. (Hortham Lane, Almondsbury, Bristol, Avon BS32 4JW)
How many party goers?

Up to 20 children.

Parents/Carers are welcome to stay; we will encourage you to volunteer in supporting the children.
What will happen at the party?

We will provide the party goers with a fantastic forest experience to remember! They will have fun: playing, making forest art/craft, exploring nature, learning new skills, singing songs, playing organised games, building a fire and cooking marshmallows. Hot chocolate is another popular choice, especially on a frosty winters morning. We can offer a range of activities to suit the age and needs of the children.

If you want to bring a party picnic to eat around the campfire, we are happy to accommodate that too. Parents/Carers often bring a birthday cake or cupcakes, so we can sing happy birthday to the special person and enjoy an important moment together.

We can make the party a little longer at extra cost, giving us a little more time to cook hot-dogs on the fire. If this is of interest, please ask when you inquire.
What if the weather is bad?

If the weather is wet or snowing, we keep going! We will prepare a shelter in the woodland.
How much will it cost?

Basic cost of the party is £150 (including the cost of the first 10 children)

Additional children – £12 per child (up to a total of 20)
