Our work at St Stephen’s Junior School in Soundwell continues and it’s great to see the children warming to the Forest School philosophy and exploring their own learning. A group of children in this session are passionate about axe work and choose it every week. But with practice comes skill and now their inquisitive nature has led them to the conclusion that they can make something. Seeing that the mallet has seen better days they have asked if they can make one from the tree trunk they found in the woods. So this week we will need to dig out both the saw and the axe!
