Today we spent the afternoon looking after the birds at Filton Hill Primary School, as they prepare to lay their eggs and feed chicks in what is turning out to be a very cold spring.
We learnt that birds make nests ready for their eggs to be laid. After that they need lots of food to feed the chicks. So we helped out by making fat balls full of meal worms. We also made our own nests and Jane found us some chocolate eggs to put in them – sadly they didn’t last long!
Hopefully we’ve done our bit and we’ll see an increase in bird life in the local area.
