Today was all about introducing the children to the delights of cooking bread on an open fire. Before we started, one boy told us that he didn’t like bread at all. By the end we’d managed to convince him that it was the best thing since. ……..well, sliced bread!
We discovered some excellent fuel collectors and a few of the children had a go at lighting the fire.
While waiting for the fire to be warm enough to cook the bread, we enjoyed some splendid renditions of our fire song, ‘crackle, crackle.’ There were some creative ideas for the verses, including – ‘We’re burning our bread, burning our bread, burning our bread on the fire!’
We’ll see you all in a fortnight Easton – we’re taking a short break next week.
